10 Ways to Improve Your Look

Let's face it people: feeling unappealing is well, unappealing. I don't care how profound you may be; nobody wants to be the gremlin in the corner! Sometimes the most important realization is that something needs to change. Whether you fell into the wrong end of the gene pool or aren't yet convinced you're hot, there are ten simple and easy changes you can make to improve the way you look.

1. Laugh a little!
Why so serious? By smiling and bringing more laughter into your daily life, you will not only seem more approachable, but perk up your insides no matter how dark they may seem. Laughing is proven to make you happier and healthier and will liven your spirits as well as others. But don't fret: a snicker is still appropriate for your colleague's corny jokes.
2. Tan tan tan.

I don't care how pale the Cullen's are; you are not one of them and therefore cannot pull of the hundred-year-old vampire schtick. Go to the beach, get a spray tan, or even put on some tinted moisturizer! You'd be surprised how much a little color can work in your favor. A sun-kissed glow may turn into a just-kissed glow.
3. Dress to impress.

This is actually the name of my Pinterest board for fashion. Aim to dazzle others every morning! I love the quote "dress everyday like you're going to see your worst enemy." Find your style and go with it! It takes ten seconds for others to form a first impression of you, and if that person is a slow walker, that may all they be in ten seconds. What you wear speaks volumes about your personality so make that voice loud and proud!
4. Makeup for a makeover.

Enhance the features on your face! Makeup really can hide flaws and accentuate anything that you wish. Are you pale? Add bronzer. Small eyes? Apply mascara and liner. Acne? Put on concealer. It really can be that easy. First you must find what works best with your coloring and learn how to properly apply makeup. You never want to cake on makeup and end up like a circus clown. Visit your local Sephora and consult a free makeup artist to see what colors, methods, and brands work best.
5. Seek out a seductive scent.

Please for the sake of your ego, never wreak of body odor. Shower 5-6 days a week, and always after you sweat. Apply deodorant and spritz on your favorite perfume! Scent can be insanely attractive and inversely extremely repulsive. There's a reason why people roll down the windows when someone farts! Walk through your local Macy's and try out any of the tester perfumes to find which appeals most to you. Remember that too much of a good thing can turn sour so don't overdo it. If you can be smelt in the other room, you've gone too far.
6. The world is your runway.

Strut in like you own the room. Keep your shoulders back, head up, and have a straight back. Don't overdo it otherwise you will look uncomfortable, but slouching can be a major turnoff. You will look for feminine and appear slimmer. Don't be afraid to add a little hip to your walk, but keep it appropriate. Rest your arms by your side, and hopefully your crush will be there too!
7. Long hair, don't care!

This most definitely includes kept up eyebrows, which are incidentally one of my biggest pet peeves. Also make sure you don't have hairy legs, because it's both awkward and embarrassing when someone notices or feels spiky hairs. With hairstyles, figure out what works best with your both your coloring and face shape. Keep in mind the texture of your hair. Since I have thin hair, I can't wear my hair too long. If you have a large forehead, try out bangs. It can also be complimentary to add highlights! Consult your hairdresser if you aren't sure what will work for you.
8. Speak, don't just talk.

Leave the expletives at home! F bombs are hardly ever attractive. Swears are both negative and a nasty habit. It is also important to sound somewhat eloquent. This doesn't mean sticking your head into a thesaurus: try to train yourself to leave out "like, really?" and the ever popular "um". You will sound more intelligent and will be received more suitably.
9. Confidence: success in an attitude.
Inner beauty truly does shine through. If you don't believe you are great, why should anyone else? Know that you deserve the best, and don't be afraid to assert who you really are. "Those who mind don't matter, and those who mind don't matter" is a wonderful mantra. Have faith that everything will work out the way it's meant to, and anyone who puts you down doesn't deserve to be a part of your life. Hold on to your inner strength and you'll be unstoppable!
10. Show off that body you got!
Embrace your body. If you are plus-size, find clothes that flatter your body. If you are flat as a board, get yourself a push-up bra. Eat healthy and you will acquire a certain glowing. Get off your butt and go to the gym! If you aren't a serial exercises, try classes like Zumba or kickboxing. Not only will you get toned, but will have a blast!
