Bootie Bootie Booties (Rock Them Everywhere)

I must admit, when the cold weather starts creeping under my door and in through my windows, I'm less than excited. But don't worry; there is one plus side to the winter season that everyone loves... boots! They jazz up every outfit instantly without any effort required when you're in a hurry. So here you go: these 6 must-have styles will help you embrace the coldest months of the year.

1. The Classic
If you live on a college campus, you will see girls everyone wearing these. And why wouldn't they?

Lynxx in Brown Multi at Steve Madden

I swear: if I could, all of my shoes would be from Steve Madden. These boots go with almost every outfit and are the go-to boots when your entire outfit is picked out and all that's left are the shoes. You really can't go wrong with these, unless of course you just have really bad taste for the rest of your attire. But that my friend is not my problem!

2. The Daring
Red is seductive, and you will seduce every person that sees you in these bad boys.

Vince Camuto Booties in Ruby Suede at Macy's

You aren't human if you don't want these! Excuse me while I make these the wallpaper on my new computer, phone, and ipod. These need to be the focal point to your outfit, otherwise you will just look like an attention whore. Simply pair these will dark jeans and black and some nice earrings.

3. The Confident
We've all seen Kim Kardashian do it, so you should be able to too! Above-the-knee shows instant confidence.

Chinese Laundry 'South Bay' Over the Knee Boot in black leather at Nordstrom

I have yet to every try on this style, but it's something I've always wanted to try. What I like about them is that it's sexy without showing any skin or any heel. This boot seems to be the essence of sexiness found in confidence. Go for it!

4. The Comfortable
Are your feet just plain cold? Sometimes you just want to step out in your pj's and this boots will feel like it!

Lattice Cardy in Charcoal at Ugg

Many people complain that Uggs aren't attractive, and that's why I went with a different style for this one. These may not be the classic Ugg, but you don't have to sacrifice the heavenly fur inside the boot that makes women flock to Ugg. They fit right in with yoga pants, which if you are wearing right men shouldn't even be looking down at your fabulous boots.

5. The Edgy
Looking for a tougher you? You don't really have to go to the dark side, just try combat boots.

Rockwall in Black Multi at Steve Madden

The detailing in these is amazing! The gold is studs are a perfect contrast to the black leather. The laces hold true to the style. I've only borrowed combat boots once for a party, but they made me feel just plain cool.

Things to Say

You’d be surprised how little people express themselves and say what they need to say to those who matter. You need to say these at the appropriate times and with true meaning behind them.

To Others:
1. Thanks for everything you’ve done.
2. You changed my life.
3. You hurt me.
4. I love you no matter what.
5. I need some help.
6. You’re my best friend.
7. I can’t thank you enough.
8. I take full responsibility.
9. I'm here for you.
10. Please don't leave.

Satisfaction

I thought I would get back to writing out poetry like the way I used to. It can be creatively refreshing, but keep in mind it's just for fun. I wish I got to log all of the old "lyrics" I used to write because some of them were really beautiful.

You can’t break a heart that’s not there
And I’m afraid you can’t use one.
Life may be easier without compassion,
Any sympathy or despair,
But regrets cannot be undone,
And I promise, there’ll be no satisfaction.

I question every moment that I breathe
But you have no answers, no thoughts, no need.
You don’t regret what you’ve never considered,
But in your mind you’ve never considered a thing.
Make it through, make it out, and make it end…
But what happened to living in the now?
Why can’t you see happiness is the how?

You’ve left any faith behind,
Afraid of all that’s been unkind,
Please my dear, please don’t go blind.
I know you’re capable of affection,
But there are hurts you can’t deny.
If you always look in the wrong direction,
Why don’t you try looking to the sky?

So many questions, so little answers
The problems all began with how you changed.
Why don’t you try staying before your heals have already turned?
Stay a little longer and feel a little deeper.
Why won’t you hold on instead of letting go?
There’s strength in forgiveness and hope in repentance.

My Ultimate Alternative Rock Mix

I tried to limit myself to two songs maximum per artist, and let me tell you it was quite difficult for some of them (shout out to Imogen Heap, OneRepublic, Panic!, Paramore, and Safetysuit.) And as much as I love myself some Maroon 5 and The Fray, they are a little too pop for this particular playlist. I also eliminated some Safetysuit favorites to keep on point with the genre (I cringed.) What I love about this genre is that some of these songs have a way of hitting your emotions in a weird way that feels just right. The lyrics can be abstract and absurdly honest accompanied with their offbeat melodies and dramatic preludes. Let me just say that I was originally only going to make a top 20, but there are so many songs that I couldn't let go of and had to make a rejects list. And then the two song rule just killed me. As you can see, I'm a music lover with a sympathy for great songs.

My Top 25:

  1. Congratulations - Blue October
  2. Sparks - Coldplay
  3. I'm Like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off - Fall Out Boy
  4. Dice - Finley Quaye & William Orbit
  5. Helena Beat - Foster the People
  6. Wake Up - Danyew
  7. Demons - Imagine Dragons
  8. Hear Me - Imagine Dragons
  9. Headlock - Imogen Heap
  10. Mr. Brightside - The Killers
  11. Float On - Modest Mouse
  12. Young Blood - The Naked and Famous
  13. Still Young - Neon Trees
  14. Champagne Supernova - Oasis
  15. But It's Better If You Do - Panic! At the Disco
  16. Nearly Witches - Panic! At the Disco
  17. Playing God - Paramore
  18. When It Rains - Paramore
  19. Stay - Safetysuit
  20. Believe - Safetysuit
  21. Run - Snow Patrol
  22. Just Say Yes - Snow Patrol
  23. Dead Hearts - Stars
  24. Cough Syrup - Young the Giant
  25. My Body - Young the Giant
  26. Sweet Disposition - The Temper Trap

Golden Girls

Most recently I have a new obsession with gold and bronze.. it just screams goddess. If you'd rather turn heads then watch them turn away, I suggest you go for these gold medal-worthy styles.

I've never really gotten behind Tom's, but this golden style is different for the brand and something I could see myself wearing with a pair of jeans. The label is casual, and the gold brings a little extra to the table.
Who says bronze is limited to clothing? This makeup look is stunning. The hair color is phenomenal along with the matching skin tone. These two elements really make her blue eyes pop, almost like they are seeing right through you. The more animalistic, the better. Looking fierce, Natalia.
The gold wrap dress literally makes you look like a trophy wife. It is extremely flattering with the right body type, and is guaranteed to please. I wish I had somewhere fancy to wear one of these dresses so that I could hang one in my closet. Heck, I like this style so much it can sleep in my bed!
A shimmering gold shirt is the perfect way to grab attention. Dress it up with white bottoms and heals or make it casual with skinny jeans and flats. Go for long cascading waves and volume pulled half up or leave all the way down.
The layered golden accessories are both sweet and feminine. Too many bracelets can get overwhelming, but this is just enough. All should vary in some way so that they don't look like gold is taking over your arm. Have fun with the messages if you wish; it's always fun to give something custom engraved to your sister or best friend
Last but not least, a golden skirt. What I love about a signature skirt is that it stands apart from all the plain black skirt at a party. People usually go for the fancy top (I am guilty of this myself) and never plan an outfit around the bottoms. But if you have nice legs and a nice butt, it draws the attention down and shows you have confidence in your body. Give it a try!

Turquoise: The Fairest of Them All

I hereby declare turquoise as my favorite color! But only when done right. Here are some of my favorite selections that make me proud to say my birthstone is aquamarine.

Wrist Candy

Yes please! I myself have a Fossil watch, and they are my brand for watches particularly because of the diamonds around the frame. It really adds a touch of girliness and helps your wrist shine bright. Gold or white are best with turquoise, because they both add a beautiful contrast and femininity to the color.

Feathered Friends

These feathers ooze pure style. The designs are unique and make a statement that you aren't afraid to try something new. Make sure you show them off with pulled back hair! I've had my eye on these two pieces ever since I stumbled upon them on Pinterest.

Shoe Fetish

You can either go sexy or stylish. The heals work wonders with a little black dress, since they give a pop of style and show you know you're hot. The flats are wonderful during the summer time with white shorts and a flowy top. This may be one time you don't want a man to look into your eyes... but down at your feet!
Desdressed
Have a shower you need to attend? Maybe a wedding? These styles are both classy and romantic. Maybe you'll catch the handsome best man's eye as the bride and groom kiss, but more likely you'll be doing the sprinkler on the dance floor when he laughs at your candidness. If he doesn't ask for a dance, he's probably gay.
Neckrophelia
My title may be creepy, but these inanimate objects are still sexy. You could wear the stoned statement necklace to show you're fashionable or wear the teardrop stone to draw attention below the neckline. Whichever the case, I approve.

Top of the Food Chain
If you can pull off the bandeau, make sure you wear tastefully. Please DO NOT wear with low cut jeans and a thong, you are not Madonna, but you may be a stripper. This can be worn under a lace top,  a low cut dress, or with a high wasted skirt. On the right, this jacket proves that all white with a pop of color is just what the doctor ordered. It looks sleek, clean, and oh so lovely.

Ring in the New Year
A stone on any finger can really show that you are up-to-date on fashion. This current trend works well with a regular outfit or for a fancy gathering. One of my favorite things about jewelry is that each piece can be so versatile and bring your outfit from okay to oh my.

Earational

When wearing turquoise earrings, the bigger the better (but please not colossal.) When the wind blows your hair to the side and reveals the gems underneath, he'll wonder what other gems you're hiding underneath. These especially work well with other colors such as salmon, and can bring something unique to bold colors.

10 Ways to Improve Your Look

Let's face it people: feeling unappealing is well, unappealing. I don't care how profound you may be; nobody wants to be the gremlin in the corner! Sometimes the most important realization is that something needs to change. Whether you fell into the wrong end of the gene pool or aren't yet convinced you're hot, there are ten simple and easy changes you can make to improve the way you look.

1. Laugh a little!
Why so serious? By smiling and bringing more laughter into your daily life, you will not only seem more approachable, but perk up your insides no matter how dark they may seem. Laughing is proven to make you happier and healthier and will liven your spirits as well as others. But don't fret: a snicker is still appropriate for your colleague's corny jokes.
2. Tan tan tan.

I don't care how pale the Cullen's are; you are not one of them and therefore cannot pull of the hundred-year-old vampire schtick. Go to the beach, get a spray tan, or even put on some tinted moisturizer! You'd be surprised how much a little color can work in your favor. A sun-kissed glow may turn into a just-kissed glow.
3. Dress to impress.

This is actually the name of my Pinterest board for fashion. Aim to dazzle others every morning! I love the quote "dress everyday like you're going to see your worst enemy." Find your style and go with it! It takes ten seconds for others to form a first impression of you, and if that person is a slow walker, that may all they be in ten seconds. What you wear speaks volumes about your personality so make that voice loud and proud!
4. Makeup for a makeover.

Enhance the features on your face! Makeup really can hide flaws and accentuate anything that you wish. Are you pale? Add bronzer. Small eyes? Apply mascara and liner. Acne? Put on concealer. It really can be that easy. First you must find what works best with your coloring and learn how to properly apply makeup. You never want to cake on makeup and end up like a circus clown. Visit your local Sephora and consult a free makeup artist to see what colors, methods, and brands work best.
5. Seek out a seductive scent.

Please for the sake of your ego, never wreak of body odor. Shower 5-6 days a week, and always after you sweat. Apply deodorant and spritz on your favorite perfume! Scent can be insanely attractive and inversely extremely repulsive. There's a reason why people roll down the windows when someone farts! Walk through your local Macy's and try out any of the tester perfumes to find which appeals most to you. Remember that too much of a good thing can turn sour so don't overdo it. If you can be smelt in the other room, you've gone too far.
6. The world is your runway.

Strut in like you own the room. Keep your shoulders back, head up, and have a straight back. Don't overdo it otherwise you will look uncomfortable, but slouching can be a major turnoff. You will look for feminine and appear slimmer. Don't be afraid to add a little hip to your walk, but keep it appropriate. Rest your arms by your side, and hopefully your crush will be there too!
7. Long hair, don't care!

This most definitely includes kept up eyebrows, which are incidentally one of my biggest pet peeves. Also make sure you don't have hairy legs, because it's both awkward and embarrassing when someone notices or feels spiky hairs. With hairstyles, figure out what works best with your both your coloring and face shape. Keep in mind the texture of your hair. Since I have thin hair, I can't wear my hair too long. If you have a large forehead, try out bangs. It can also be complimentary to add highlights! Consult your hairdresser if you aren't sure what will work for you.
8. Speak, don't just talk.

Leave the expletives at home! F bombs are hardly ever attractive. Swears are both negative and a nasty habit. It is also important to sound somewhat eloquent. This doesn't mean sticking your head into a thesaurus: try to train yourself to leave out "like, really?" and the ever popular "um". You will sound more intelligent and will be received more suitably.
9. Confidence: success in an attitude.
Inner beauty truly does shine through. If you don't believe you are great, why should anyone else? Know that you deserve the best, and don't be afraid to assert who you really are. "Those who mind don't matter, and those who mind don't matter" is a wonderful mantra. Have faith that everything will work out the way it's meant to, and anyone who puts you down doesn't deserve to be a part of your life. Hold on to your inner strength and you'll be unstoppable!
10. Show off that body you got!
Embrace your body. If you are plus-size, find clothes that flatter your body. If you are flat as a board, get yourself a push-up bra. Eat healthy and you will acquire a certain glowing. Get off your butt and go to the gym! If you aren't a serial exercises, try classes like Zumba or kickboxing. Not only will you get toned, but will have a blast!

Icons to Emulate

Audrey Hepburn

Recently, I made an excellent decision to finally watch Breakfast at Tiffany's. I understand what all the hype about Ms. Hepburn is: she is luminescent onscreen. She is elegant, classic, put-together, and disciplined. She doesn't need to be a DD to be sexy; she cascades around the room as if she owns it, which, in my opinion, is the ultimate definition of sexiness... confidence. She beats to the rhythm of her own drum and makes everyone else try to imitate her beat.

Marilyn Monroe

Are diamonds a girl's best friend? It seems more likely that the shiny rock plays a third-wheel role to Marilyn's monumental curves. There doesn't seem to be a man she can't seduce, and with sex appeal comes sheer power. Even decades later she is laminated on college dorm rooms and only needs an utterance of her first name to be recognized. Justin Timberlake may be bringing sexy back, but many men would rather revisit the original sex icon that is Marilyn Monroe.

Blake Lively

There's a reason why my shopping mantra is "what would Blake do?" Anyone who is that close with Karl Lagerfeld is going to have an insatiable taste for fashion. She manages to be stylish, sexy, bold, and classic all at once while inspiring a whole new generation of fashionistas. Glamour is a lifestyle, or should I say lively-style.

2 Scarves, 6 Styles!

LEOPARD PRINT SCARF

A leopard print scarf... Here's why: Just like a real leopard, you will look fierce. Isn't that enough? I've been wanting one forever but cannot find one that quite satisfies my appetite. The reason why is because I like my scarves extra slouchy and thick. I recommend looking in Target or Urban Outfitters!

1. Comfy:

A colorful slouchy sweater, black leggings, and rider boots... we're always looking to turn heads people! You may be comfortable, but never look sloppy. Keep the hair tied back tight or in a loose up do with long lashes to complete the look. Never have fear when mascara is there! Shy away from patterns on the sweater since there is already print on the scarf.

2. Edgy:

Leather jackets all the way! Match with dark skinny jeans (to cheat comfort I suggest jeggings) and diamond hoop earrings to add a little bling. Don a fishtail braid to add flavor. Make the eyes pop by doing a smoky eye, but beware of overdoing it! Nobody wants to see a human raccoon (we're talking to you Taylor Momsen.) Bring a pop of color with red studded flats.

3. Sexy:

Let's keep with the leather theme here; go for tight leather leggings (here's the chance show off your hard work in kickboxing!) To accentuate the legs even further, which is a must for short-legged people like myself, slip on a pair of studded red heels for the "wow" factor. Also rock a glittery gold/beige tank and tie the scarf so that it's tighter in the neck and the ends are longer and fall by your side. Finish off with black feather earrings. If you don't turn heads, you need to check if you're in a morgue... then at least you'll be drop-dead gorgeous!

RED INFINITY SCARF

1. Comfy
A loose plaid shirt screams "hug me". Not only will you look approachable, but when added with dark skinny jeans and nude ballet flats you will look cozy-chic. Also add a small side french braid  with your hair down and bronzer to conclude.

2. Edgy

I had to think a little out of the box for this one, but you must be an out-of-the-box person to actually wear the outfit. Use your red infinity scarf as an under shirt and twist it into a figure 8 with a red bandeau underneath. Then put a white jacket with glitter ends on top with white jeans on the bottom. Add glittery heals to match and you will be the talk of the town.

3. Sexy

Is there a get-together you know your crush will be at? Well, then I suggest you show some face... and some leg! Waltz in wearing a white dress featuring lace and let the red scarf give the outfit a necessary sprucing. Since wedges are my new obsession, go for bold red so you can see into his beautiful eyes. Finish off with a volume induced waves and angelic makeup (don't worry, we won't make you act like an angel.) Now you can stress about whether he likes you instead of your outfit!
